Be On The Lookout For: How Robot Vacuum Deals Is Taking Over And What Can We Do About It

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%..

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most significant advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.

The design is also more appealing than the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that resembles toys rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It even could catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots couldn't do. And all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

Although it's not as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and can't clean stairs The J7+ is a solid option for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to tell whether they're functioning until you actually witness them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock has some of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the luxurious features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice for those who are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also excellent, with few misses along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you select the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is simple. It also features an impressive LCD display that is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people, but it's one that can aid in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and function are among the top available - but it's also pricey.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot charged and clean.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't provide as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price cost.

But if you want to save some cash or don't want to think about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models that cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive however it comes with more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of creating  robot vacuum s that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brush, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it left off.

The eufy G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, has similar battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
